ABOUT SONOKO

SONOKO AT A GLANCE...

SONOKO Kampuchea is not yet a registered or established local organization.  In 2009, Cambodian students and graduates began the process to lead and be responsible for this student-led movement in Cambodia.

The vision of SONOKO Kampuchea, is a vision that we would like to see happen in all of Cambodia and beyond.  This vision is able to gather together individuals and different organizations.

By God's grace we pray, work, and hope that by 2015 SONOKO Kampuchea can be registered as a local organization.  Currently, the most important step is spreading the vision among the Cambodian students and graduates in order to produce men and women of vision through evangelism and discipleship.

Presently, SONOKO Kampuchea is led by student ministry team who serve as staff workers or student workers (local graduates and missionaries of OMF Int. Cambodia, Danish Lutheran Mission-DLM, Perkantas Indonesia, FES Singapore, IVCF USA) who are committed to SONOKO Kampuchea's vision and devote themselves to making this vision fulfilled.

The student team is open to anyone (graduates, lecturers, missionaries with a passion for students) who accept the vision, mission and distinctive characteristics of SONOKO Kampuchea and willing to work together toward this vision.

OUR MISSION...

PROCLAIMING GOD'S KINGDOM GOSPEL

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son. The broken world is absolutely in need of Jesus Christ; Jesus Christ brings restoration, hope, and joy. He is the only one who can save and bring us back to the Father; fellowship with Him eternally. Christians play an important role in bringing God's Kingdom and healing to the earth.

HOLISTIC DISCIPLESHIP

Once we believe in Jesus Christ, he gives us a new life in God's family. We have to grow in the likeness of our Lord and Savior; Jesus Christ. This process we call discipleship. It happens in the context of community with fellow believers, through studying God's Word, prayer and sharing life together.

INTEGRAL MISSION

Christianity is not just about life after death but also here and now, covering whole dimension of life, society and environment.  It is also a continuity progress until Lord Jesus comes again. The Bible says that God Kindgom is cmoing to earth and Jesus Christ has sent us to the world to continue His mission. So there is no excuse for us. Student and graduates are taught and encouraged to continue Jesus' mission.
